Another way to say “bridge the gap” is to say find common ground. More than ever, there is tension between ideas that connect people from many diverse backgrounds. While it is healthy to discuss rival points of view in an intelligent, reasonable, and collegiate way. But that does not happen much these days unless thought leaders who write opinions in our leading publications do so.
What is needed is an honest, grass roots, and truthful perspective. With courageous boldness we will make an effort to “bridge the gap.” We know that we may make mistakes, but that’s life. We are willing to learn from our mistakes because if we do, we will grow. If we do not, it is certain we will make no progress at all.
